Southampton Green Party Results May 2024

4 May 2024

May 2024 elections were a tough gig for Southampton Greens but polling was in tune with 2023 where an average of 9% was achieved across the city.

This year Labour worked aggressively to keep Greens from being elected preferring to ignore other fights between the Tories or Lib Dems. This cost them dearly in Woolston as they lost a seat in what should have been a strong Labour area and in Swaythling they also conceded a seat.

Fighting the incumbent Labour Cllr in Portswood Neil Kelly polled a reasonable 880 votes, which is a strong place to be when considering future elections.

Some promising improvements in Banister and Polygon where Ellis Jackson boosted our profile.
