Get Involved

There are several ways to get involved with Southampton & District Green party:

Come to our next meeting

The Southampton & District Green Party holds regular meetings for members, supporters and anyone interested in Green issues.

Meetings are normally held on the second Wednesday of each month, 7:30pm at The View bar (located at Southampton Sports Centre, SO16 7AY).

For more information, please contact Joe Cox (Secretary/Local Party Contact) by email on

Join the Green Party

As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election.

Membership can be obtained by going to the join page of our national party website.

Students can join the Green Party for just £6 a year!

Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?

Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills?  Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.

Stand for Council

Although we have stood in the area in the last few years we have no Green Party councillors on the city, District or County Councils yet.  But we aim to change this.

So we need lots of enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates.

Candidates must be paid-up members of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies.

Our Area

We cover the City of Southampton, Test Valley and part of Andover.

We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates in local and general elections.
